Rod has resided in the Wairarapa for nearly 25 years. Having had 40 years in the stud sheep and cattle business (Angus, Romney, Perendale and South Suffolk) he has an in-depth knowledge of the New Zealand sheep and cattle scene along with 16 years supervising a large scale sheep and beef station in the Wairarapa, responsible for the breeding and finishing. He fully understands the ramifications of the industry.
Rod completed five years in Real Estate 2003-2008 selling dairy, sheep, beef and lifestyle properties.
Rod instigated the first Farmlands Real Estate business in the North Island in Masterton and enjoys being part of a progressive team.
Rod has a Diploma in Agriculture and an official judge of the four breeds.
Rods father was the founder of Farmlands and chairman for 21 years, it seemed a logical progression, when returning to Real Estate to be part of the Farmlands Real Estate move to the North Island. He certainly knows and understands the "Farmlands" brand, its strengths and the advantages of the Co-operative and the importance of a return its shareholders.
Originally from Hawkes Bay he believes the Wairarapa is the "best kept secret" where opportunities abound in agriculture amd with the possibility of an impending irrigation scheme, the province is ready to lift production dramatically.
Married to Belinda for 38 years having three children Georgie, Tom and the late Willy.
